ACERA

Acera™ Amundsen is a DNV GL type approved 12-strand high performance rope made from genuine Acera™ HMPE yarns, which is individually coated through a rotating 360° Lick-roller process. This cumbersome single yarn coating process demonstrates the uncompromising commitment to the quality standards af Acera™. Single yarn coating is proven to significantly enhance internal and external abrasion resistance, and extend service life and strength.

12 strand ropes are regarded as the best rope construction, and has become the most common construction for HMPE ropes.

Key benefits:

  • Ease of handling
  • Easy to splice
  • Easy to inspect
  • High construction stability
  • Well-balanced: 6 left and 6 right strands
  • Out-sized surface contact - better abrasion resistance
  • No rotation under load
  • Single yarn coating extended service life

Acera™ is the alternative to the cumbersome steel wire ropes. It is stronger and safer - significantly less snap back/recoil. The corresponding weight is 7 times lower. When replacing conventional fiber ropes the reduction in diameter leads to significant savings of weight (60%!), space and handling - reducing mooring operation time and fuel consumption.

The Acera™ Amundsen properties of low weight, ultra high strength and competitive pricing make the ropes attractive on a number of applications:

  • Mooring - Towing - Lifting - Winching
  • Tankers - cruise ships - tug boats
  • Offshore and seismic vessels, etc.
